Polysorbate 80 (CAS 9005-65-6), also known as Tween-80, is a non-ionic surfactant and emulsifier with the chemical formula C24H44O6 (C2H4O) n. Easily soluble in water, soluble in ethanol, vegetable oil, ethyl acetate, methanol, toluene, insoluble in mineral oil. It becomes gelatinous at low temperature and recovers after being heated. It smells very bad and tastes slightly bitter.
