Basic Information

Benzophenone is an aromatic ketone, white flaky / crystalline solid with mild floral‑rose odour. It is a classic free‑radical type‑II UV‑photoinitiator, also used as UV‑absorbing intermediate, perfume fixative and organic synthesis building‑block. Widely consumed in UV‑curable coatings, printing inks, adhesives, fragrance, pharmaceutical and fine‑chemical industries.

Organic synthesis: Key intermediate for pharmaceuticals, agro‑chemicals and dyestuffs.

Plastic additive: UV‑absorber intermediate; polymerization inhibitor for styrene monomers.
